Life Lately: First Weekend Out&About!

 Hello lovely beings

I have Dyshidrotic eczema, which can cause extremley painful blisters/rash that need time, meds, and plenty of rest to help heal. This recent relapse had taken over my back and bottom areas, which is seemingly better than the full body sores I've experienced in the past, but left me bedridden for about two and a half weeks. It's finally calmed to a point where I can wear clothes, and finally venture back outdoors! 

My partner came over, and we immediately made plans to go visit our regular shop stops. We usually go weekly to pick up new comic drops at Dr. No's and Syndicate Comics. It was nice to visit and see everyone I hadn't seen in so long. Since we were stopping at comic shops, we also got to enjoy some Batman day goodies! Picked up some freebies at both stops [along with our purchases], and even got to enter a Batman Trivia raffle at Dr. No's. We ended up winning the raffle! My partner got to pick out something Batman DC related, and ended up picking a nice thick hardcover book.

Afterwards, we made a pit-stop at the Aqua Fresca truck we always pass and have been wanting to try in forever. $7 for a giant cup of delicious fruit juice! We tried the strawberry x kiwi flavor and that sh*t was bussin' bussin! Once I get the name, you better believe I'm sharing!!

Then we found ourselves at a Plato's Closet due to some big 70% off signs in the window 😅✨. I found some cute pieces for myself, my partner, and even an adorable Care Bear tee for my mom! I promise I'll share them in due time. Most likely in their own post, so stay on the lookout for that!

When we finally made it back home, we popped on My Hero Academia and hollared at Deku using Second's power on Shigaraki/All for One! We had to pause it, get all the lights turned off to have the perfect setting, and replay that scene again. 

My son is all growing up y'all 🥹!

Celebrating 85 Years of the Dark Knight 🦇

Hello lovely beings

Happy Batman Day 2024!

It's that time of year again to give The Bat his well deserved flowers, making this the 85th year celebrating his long-lasting influence across TV, film, music, and comics. Batman has been a cultural icone since his debut in Detective Comics in 1939, so it's only fitting that for his 85th he also become the first superhero to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Batman's star will be positioned close to stars of Adam West and co-creator Bob Kane. I know the Joker is somewhere punching the air right now 😂. 

If you're a California resident, you can join in on the festivities by going to the hour long Jim Lee signing at the Walk of Fame ceremony. It will be held at the Funko Hollywood location, for 100 Gothamites who receive a wristband for purchasing a Batman product on Tuesday, September 24th.

Warner Bros. Archives will also be doing a pop-up museum to showcase some of Batman's most iconic costumes and props. Lucky Californians!

Outside of Cali, you may be able to catch in theatre screenings of Batman 89, Batman: Mask of Phantasm, and Batman Forever on Friday the 20th.

There are also some local Georgia events that could also be used to help further celebrate our Caped Crusader for the rest of September.

Who is Starfish?

My parent-given name is Ashley, but I much prefer to be addressed as Starfish/Star. Contrary to popular belief, I'm actually an octomaid named Starfish. If you're unsure what an octomaid is, think Ursula but with "good guy" genes stuffed in there. I'm not over here trying to steal anyone's voice so I can become the Queen of Atlantis or anything. Just trying to spread some kind of joy and positivity to those who want to accept it.

I entered this world in the year '92, and try to ensure I nurture my inner child on the regular. I highly enjoy games from my youngion days, collecting toys or other things I find disgustingly adorable, and trying out new cuisines I can get my hands on.

I'm a lover of smiling, laughing, and trying to stay as positive as possibly. A certified Goofy Goober, with a minor in Dance Therapy. A firm believer that anyone choosing to live their own lives happily, without hurting others emotionally or physically, are living right.

The not so positive side of little 'ol me has various forms of anxieties, traumas, and depression. I'm hoping this space will help me to overcome mine, while attempting to help others overcome similar things they may be going through.
