Pilfering for Journal Supplies

 Hello lovely beings

One of the best things about my job [there aren't a lot] is that close to the end of the selling season, two of the sales trainers get a random amount of kits back from sales reps...which means random office supplies may be sent back with them! Goblins gotta gobble, am I right?

My favorite pick-up has to be the pale blue Sarasa gel pen, as that specific color is already a favorite in my usual journaling utensils. My current on was running out, so giant score. I don't have a least favorite out of the bunch, especially since they were all free.  I'm just grateful to be able to pilfer them all LOL! P.S. I did pick up another mini boxcutter, three pens, and two sharpies the day I'm typing this up 😝.

I just need them to unveil some sick patterned papers/stickers, and I'll be set!

˚.⋆꒰১ Star & BB Saturday's ໒꒱⋆.˚

We started our day early, with a 10:50 showing of Spiderman: Brand New Day. We got there a bit earlier, and forgot that malls don't open 'til about 11 on weekends. We mucked around, looking at what closed shops we'd go in once opened, and still made it back in time for previews.

There was a little freebie button I happened to see, and quickly grabbed one for BB and I. Then, it was off to see go find our seats! I was surprised, but very happy, to see that there were only a handful of other movie-goers. BB picked a couple of really good seats for us, and without any spoilers I can say we both really enjoyed it! We laughed, we gasped, and both shed some tears. Definitely excited to see the next one! Or next few, maybe 🧐?  

Next stop Books-A-Million ✨

I started back reading manga. Mainly because I miss reading, but also because I've bought new manga 😅 . I finished reading The Strange House vol. 1, so that was the main thing I was looking for on this visit.

But nothing could have prepared me for this house. It seemed so ordinary at first, except for that one room. It had no doors, no windows, and was tucked away, leaving anyone to think it was just a wall. I knew that there was something more to it. It shouldn't be there, it shouldn't exist, and yet... Just what is this house, and what dark secrets does it hold?"

There were a couple titles I decided to take pictures of to either look more into online, or pick up to read after I get through more of my fresh [and older TvT] stack. Not to say I didn't also pick up something new in addition to vol. 2 of The Strange House. Grim Night Tales.

Lastly, we made our way to lunch and blind box opening! I was hoping Miniso would have some type of adorable Spiderman blind boxes, or merch. Sadly they only had a handful of random keychains, but we still decided to pick up a couple DanDaDan ones before we left. I ended up having $14 in credits to use on the purchase...so we only paid 0.40! Even though I ended up pulling a dupe transformed Okarun, BB still got to add a new Turbo Granny to his mini collection. I think we only need two more from each set to complete them!

Then we went home, relaxed, and watched Mortal Kombat II. Which ended up being better than we both though!

BB was in the mood to treat a chica to some loyal subjects to add to the ever-growing Trinket Army. I was in the mood to fully take him up on that offer 😂! 

We found ourselves at one of our local ongoing convention spaces, Charlie's Collectible Show, since one of our favorite vendors just got a new stock of plush that were calling my name. The original plan was to maybe pick up a Ditto As, choose between which PokePeace plush I may need want [Mimikyu or Pichu], and to scoop up an Altaria brooch/keychain. 

Happy with the decisions I finally came to, and even got to pick up some smaller keychains and stickers. I think one of my favorite things is that they remember us, especially moms. She helps them with vending, and usually is the first one to see us and wave. Since we were scooping up a hefty little haul, they even threw in a pin as an appreciation gesture!

With it also being TCG Con X, you know we couldn't leave without picking up some cards too! I think we both picked some really good ones.

Taking advantage of this "spend my money" mood, we also made a stop at Miniso! I'd been collecting the stamps for their little stamp rally event, and was ready to pick up some blind boxes and my tote bag....come to find out...somehow someone else claimed my tote bag?! The app was not loading on my phone, but after a bit of standing around attempting, the worker finally just let us have it. Isn't it adorable? Now the hard decision to make this one my new Trinket Trade Tote, or to continue using the one I already have 😅.

I'll show what we ended up pulling in due time, I promise!

Star & BB Saturdays: Goblin Hour + Little Lantern + Trade Night!

Hello lovely beings

Oh, we had plans honey. The fun was much needed, after the way the work week treated us. Our day was planning to start at Goblin Hour at Dr. No's [local comic shop], then we had Trade Night at Wolcow [local card shop]. If we had the energy, we were going to end off with a evening viewing of The Odyssey...but we didn't quite make that one lol. 

First stop, Goblin Hour! Make & take zines, trinket trading, AND junk journaling 💞. Which was held at one of my favorite comic book shops, and one my partner used to work at. How could it get better?! I was most excited for the junk journaling and always have my large tote ready to go with my go to journaling supplies, but also filled a little tote with trinkets [no picture 🥹] that needed a new home. 

They had some tables set out, one for trinkets and a few more for people to sit and create. BB and I set out our tote of treasures and grabbed the first table we saw. Some people were of course making zines and journaling, but a few others were making their own buttons. I think I spent a little over two hours, and was able to work on two entries. Introvert me only talked a little bit, as most of the journalers picked the other tables, but I really got in zen mode once I started so that wasn't much of a bother. One of the workers also dubbed me the Journal Queen, so how could I not have the best time?! 

The most interesting cover I saw whilst perusing the aisles, and a cover I bought specifically for my mom. She IS Wonder Woman, but also a big fan of her. The swimsuit variant for this year was screaming to be a part of her collection! 

FOOD BREAK

We had to stop at Little Lantern! We were infected by an instagram post that showed up in BB's algorithm. We also went last weekend, but had to go again to try more. Our Order:

Everything was delicious yet again! I'm so lucky that this is closer to BB's place, because I would be ordering from here ALL the time!

Next stop TRADE NIGHT~! 

I have lost count, but I think this is our fourth or fifth trade night at the Wolcow. It was really nice to see familiar faces, and make a couple sought for trades! Was also able to trade in a One Piece card for some store credit [and a Chinese Exlusive Florigato from Gem Pack Vol. 5]. I did not take pics of the things that left my collection, but here are the chases we were able to walk away with. The bottom two on the His side, I sneakily traded for so I could surprise BB with them. He's usually the sneaky one, so it was my turn! 

Gobs of fun were had, and Dr. No's is even flirting with the idea of making Goblin Hour a monthly thing! So much to look forward to in the coming month. I hope your Saturdays have been making you feel just as good!

Pokemon Release Day: Mega Evolution Pitch Black

 Hello lovely beings

Pokemon's newest set has just released, this past Friday, and there's already so many cards we're chasing. I'm mainly most excited for new Morpeko cards I get to add to the PC, with that little rascal being amongst my top favorites, but the rest of the arts are just as aesthetically pleasing. BB and I were lucky enough to snag a decent amount of Pitch Black goodies to open on release day, including: 

🌟 1 ETB + 8 Sleeved Boosters from MicroCenter
🌟 Booster Box + 2 Booster Bundles from Pokemon Center
🌟 Booster Bundle from Local Card Shop 

If you can't tell.... we opened absolutely everything 🙌🏽! 

We were able to pull BB's top chase, Zeraora EX, and a couple of my chases....but no needed Morpeko just yet. Since I already have a couple form opening some japanese packs, these are really all the chases I have left. The Grunts will go into the couple binder, of course, and Gladion has a connecting art with the Silvally we've already pulled. Misty and Goldeen are going to look so good on my Misty page, and I couldn't see how anyone wouldn't feel an epic need for that Morpeko 🤷🏽‍♀️.
