Sh*t I've Watched: The Voyeurs 2021

I accidentally watched The Voyeurs while I was supposed to be working dilligently, and now I'm even more suspicious of  everyone's apartment windows?? Let's talk about it! Disclaimer: Due to me typing whilst watching, there will be spoilers. BUT I'll try to warn you before they come about. 

First things first, the soundtrack absolutely slaps. When I wasn't spiraling emotionally, I was most definitely vibing musically. Whoever curated the playlist knew exactly what they were doing. It felt like they found my Spotify playlists, and just added accordingly. No making fun of me for also being excited that Chlorophyll water got it's spotlight too. 

Next, the cast. Sidney Sweeny and Justice Smith had such good chemistry! I was instantly invested in them as a couple. Cute, new home, better life, what could go wrong? [Spoiler: Everything. Everything goes wrong]. Justice played Thomas so well! He had that calm, emotionally intelligent, and best boy energy. Loved him, wanted to protect him. Wanted him to dump Pippa so many times  😅 . Sydney did a believable job in her role as Pippa as well, but she was making some annoying decisions as the character. I suppose it's all needed once we get to the end.

Around the 30-minute mark, the temperature at my desk went UP. They end up watching their neighbors get freaky, then suddenly they get freaky, and now I'm blushing at my desk like I'm watching it with the whole office. There's a scene with binoculars, handsy business, and swapping roles that had me saying, "Okay this is kinda hot 😅." You already know I mentally considered this dynamic with my man. Ain't no way I'm letting him get emotionally attached to the girl-next-door just because she's flexible and artsy. 

So about those neighbors...Jules and Sebastian. Whew 😮‍💨. From afar, they gave off those sexy artsy couple goals vibes. But baby, that relationship was more toxic than Botulinum. He ends up cheating with every model he shoots, gaslights tf out of his wife, and even ends up getting a little intense physically. Leaving Jules to spiral, and out girl Pippa is just over here playing Harriet the Spy with her new binoculars. Yes, she bought a pair of binoculars so spying would be easier. 

Don't even get me started on Jules's birthday cake. Pippa is ready to swoop in when she spies on Sebs enjoying Jules's cake with not one, but two models he's cheating with that evening! I would have been SICK!

Pippa really said, "I can fix this," and proceeded to risk it all. After Jules randomly shows up for an eye appointment at Pippa's job, Pippa takes it upon herself to use the info of Jules getting a new printer to try and start her saving. Pippa starts sending her messages via bluetooth printing. This leads Jules to taking her own life, leaving Thomas wrecked by the guilt of what they've been doing. This all makes Thomas dip, which is fair since Pippa was now taking it too far and going against what they agreed upon as a couple. 

She's not done with her interesting decisions there. She then decided to leave a voicemail, FROM HER JOB, to let Julia know her glasses are ready and how sorry she is. Why would one implicate themselves in such a way, I will never know. We aren't done there, though. In her sad and lonely stupor, she ends up not only trying to console Sebastian as a random stranger but she hooks up with him too! Was this part of a deeper plan? For fun? For....closure? All I know is Thomas shows up with flowers...amd catches her in the act!

If you thought we couldn't get darker, hold onto your butts. Pippa gets some instant karma with glass to the foot, on her way to sneak back to her apartment. Upon arrival...Thomas has taken his life, and we're all devastated. Once I thought this movie couldn't get anymore crazy, the plot twist of the century rears it's head. We find out at Sebastians gallery showing that the neighbors weren't the ones being watched...the watchers were being watched the WHOLE TIME. Jules and Sebs owned the building. They staged the entire thing. Even took photos of everything, including Thomas' final moment. This also means Jules is not actually dead! Y'all, I almost threw my phone. It's almost crazy to think that people like this exist out there. Curate an entire psychological breakdown and call that art.

Hold on now, we're not done yet. Oh yes, we had time to twist again! Pippa ends up flipping the script after remembering that Thomas would never take his own life, and finding some evidence to support it. There was a whole chase, leading the crazy couple right into her trap. Not only does she get them to confess, but she's able to give them a taste of their own medicine literally. The same way they got to Thomas, Pippa got to them. If I were Sebs, I may have been a little more suspicious of receiving gift wine I also drank with my victim. The piece de resistance was Pippa using her eye doctor skills to ensure these hooligans can't continue doing this to unsuspecting victims.

I have no clue what genre this movie is supposed to be, but I lived! It was messy, spicy, morally questionably, fully unhinged, but kept me wanting to see what was going to happen next. I even ended up hyping it up to my partner! Can't wait to hear how he feels about the binocular scene 😏.

If you're one to enjoy drama, twists, and a little bit of spice, then The Voyeurs might just be your next watch! If you've already seen it, gimme those recommendations [please]!

Now excuse me while I close every curtain in my house, and plan to look at all the nooks and crannies for cameras at my next airbnb!

Let's Eat: SpiceX Indian Kitchen 😌🍛✨

✨ Hello lovely beings ✨ 

Ya girl has possibly found her new favorite Indian spot! 

You know those times when you're doom-scrolling through Uber Eats, trying to convince yourself that no you do not want another $20 salad? That was me 😅. On the look out for something not only delicious, but also wouldn't hurt my soul or bank account! Like an Indian cuisine miracle, SpiceX revealed itself.

What caught my eye, you ask? Y'all, they had affordable combos! In this economy?? You know my perusing was done! I ended up paying around $16 for the Biriyani Combo. It came with a biriyani, curry, naan, and two sauces that seemed to be pre-included. An absolute steal, and of course...it slapped!

The greenest flag was when my driver arrived with my food 🥹....look at the insulated baggie it came in! The material making it perfect for reusing 😭! Wait 'til you see how the food was packaged.

*Squeals of excitement + joy* 

Do you see this?! I am the type of person who is riddled with irrational fears. Though it doesn't stop me from ordering, I do always fear my driver is going to taint my food somehow, lol! The bag being stapled shut was a decent added touch, but when I tell you that pull tab put my whole body at ease! You can't open the lid at all with that tab still there!

Onto the flavors. My choices were Paneer Biriyani, a chicken curry, and naan. I think one of the sauces was a spicy eggplant sauce, and the other may have been a spicy garlic.

After my first bite, I immediately told BB of it's greatness, lol! I can't remember if it asked me for a specific spice level. If they didn't, this was spiced to perfection. Everything was so good! It felt like what I know to be authentic Indian cuisine. I was even able to wash and reuse the container to pack my own lunches in. Even though this is my first and only experience with them, I feel it's safe to say I will be back again and again. Almost want to order it for the household for Friday dinner! 

All in all, SpiceX delivered exactly what I needed. Big flavor, decent portions, and a total bill that didn't make me question my life choices. Too rare to find a spot that hits all three.

April Pokemon Recap

 Hello lovely beings

I make it truly easy to see what my current obsessions are 😅.

We were heavy with the poke-hauls for April! Lowkey due to it being my partner's birthday month, but also because we were actually able to find things to rip for ourselves.

Starting off with one of our many LCS trips.

While picking up a second DanDaDan Booster Box at Win Conditions, we got a Temporal Forces blister pack as well as the Maractus AR from Journey Together. I wanted that Maractus so bad, but didn't like when she was still at $10. Luckily I waited and we got to snag her up for $4! Both BB and I are chasing cards from Temporal Forces, and I think that Cleffa promo was too cute not to give the blister pack a go.

Combination Gamestop + Win Conditions + Five Below 

We finally stumbled on a Lillie's Tournament box on one of our Gamestop trips. BB bought it for me so I could have the promo and extra cute bits! Lillie isn't my favorite trainer, but the coin and the art in general for her set was too adorable to pass up. The hits were buttcheeks, but I was still able to pick up some cards to add to my little collection.

The Hits

I'm pretty sure that all of our better hits came from the Paradox Rift hang boosters we picked up from Five Below. I just remember saying to myself that the others were a**, lol, so definitely had to be the hang booster that did us right! I'm very lowkey complaining since we still got to cross off quite a few from both of our to pull lists! 

We've picked up many a Gem Horizons box, still hunting that friggen Captain Pikachu. The worst part is we need to pull at least two so we can both have one in our respected collections...I think we pulled the Quaxly/Nidothing Full Art from both of these boxes 😅, at least I was able to snag up a couple decently-priced singles along with these two boxes!

Oh, you didn't think we'd be trying again so soon? I'm not even going to hold you, this pick up might have been the following day 😅! This was a CardsHq stop, since we were itching for new singles. They have boxes on boxes of card singles for sale, and they'll usually come with a penny sleeve and a toploader for no extra charge. We ended up with two Gem Horizons booster boxes, a Stellar Miracle booster box, 12 singles for me, 5 singles for BB, and a pack of penny sleeves that ended up being too tall to use in our PC binders 😅, lol! Though we weren't able to pull the Fuecoco or Captain Pikachu, it was a good day for my PC for sure. I ended up with more than enough to cross off of my want list!

 Here are our box hits from both Gem Horizons and the Stellar Miracle booster. I'm pretty sure BB wanted the Noctowl, and I know he for sure wanted the Zeraora. I passed on the Joltik when BB found him as a single, but will be PC-ing him now that we've pulled him ourselves! The bottom two are the Gem hits. I already have that Quaxly in english, so BB was able to snatch him up for his PC.

Stellar Miracle Booster Box Hits 

Thank the lucky stars that we pulled a Cinderace EX! I was starting to feel down about our hits, then this feller showed up to bright my PC's and my day. Though we have pulled her before, BB added the Terapagos EX to his collection. All the others have been added to our "let-go" binder!

✨ BB's Singles ✨

I think he really picked out some cuties, even if there are only a few. I passed on the Dendra thinking I already had her. but alas I do not. I think she'll be just fine in his PC though!

✨ Star's Singles ✨

Look at all the cuties I was able to find for my little PC! A lot of these I've been watching in auction, but never being able to get the winning bid. It just means they were waiting for me at CardsHq. Some even ended up being lower than what I've been seeing elsewhere *big win*. 

✨ Little assortment of random pulls! ✨

I ended up pulling the Lapras EX, Aspec, and Ethan's Typhlosion from packs I'd been hoarding. I only ended up keeping Lapras for my PC, and giving the other two to BB for his. He also traded [gifted] me the Bramblin and the Rookidee, so I think it's a fine swap.

*Whew* I feel like I can finally breathe after all that poke-explaining! Next month is my birthday month, but I'm sure that wont slow us down for getting ourselves some Poke-wins!

Thumbs Up Diner Brunch (｡ᴖ ⤙ ᴖ)‎𐂐◯𓇋(๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑)

I won't sit here and try to speak for all the Thumbs Up Diners in Georgia, but the one in Woodstock refuses to disappoint! I think our first experience was through uber eats. The food ended up being like surprisingly tasty, so we decided we had to try it out fresh from the kitchen.

I usually like to get the Chicken and Waffles, with spicy sauce on the chicken, and BB usually gets the Nashville Hot Chicken Tender Sandwich. We didn't plan this, but both ended up feeling like we wanted to try something a little different this go around.  I picked the Fish and Grits, and BB ordered Smothered biscuits with Gravy. We we're both satisfied with our new picks! Everything they have is seasoned so well, and to have that nice hot fish with fresh grits was everything I never knew I needed. I'm not a fan of foods with too many textures, but tried some of BBs smothered biscuits... When I tell you that too was so yummy! I did also try one of their bagged mint teas this go 'round, but still wish they had a matcha option.

Poké Collecting GF Come-up ✧｡٩(ˊᗜˋ )و✧*｡

✨  Hello lovely beings ✨ 

As you may or may not know, my current partner got me back into collecting pokemon cards. Which means I automatically want all the cute cards lol! I pick what to PC based on cuteness levels, but also nostalgia. This past weekend, BB not only found an old binder of his, but he also needed to free up some space in his current pc binder [or move cards around, lol] to make room for some recent pulls we'd hit. What better time for me to paw around his pages to nab I mean to help him with this endeavor 😅! 

----˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚----

Left to right, the first image is the cards I picked from his found binder. I think it was right before we started dating because I remember him mentioning he used to buy a lot of celebrations then. I'm too happy to have that Exeggutor in my collection too! I love me some cuties, but the "funky" cards make me want them too! The middle pic are some goodies he had in mind to give me, and then he whipped out a graded Yveltal on top of that! I think the one I'm most excited to add to my binders is that Blaziken V! Definitely tried to pull or win the auction for him a time or two.

Zeraora and Briar were on his want lists, and he almost bought the Briar while we we're out and about! Luckily I was with him, so I could tell him we got Briar at home lol! He completely forgot he'd bought her for me at CardsHq. I too needed space in my trainer binder, so I was more than happy to hand her over to his. The Arezu I wanted to get him just because. Well, also becauseI found him a pinback button of her the day before at Win Conditions. I think these along with our unconditional love sprinkled on top make for quite the fair trade, don't you?

FCBD 2025

It's that time of year again!
Free Comic Book Day! 

Free Comic Book Day is usually the first Saturday of May each year. This year's FCBD happened to fall on May 3rd. This will also mark my third year volunteering to help out at the Dr. No's FCBD event, along with BB. I'm so excited! Here is the list of what I'm hoping to see and be able to get:

We stayed along with the Dr. No's crew from 11am-2pm. It rained, but Dr. No's was ready with a back up plan, and set up in their "storage" next door. Was definitely helpful with keeping the comics and most of the attendees dry. 

Here are all the goodies we were able to pick up!

Even though I didn't get every title from my list, we were still able to grab majority of what we wanted! Sadly didn't see the Stitch Best Food Forever, or Creaky Acres. I'm also sad I forgot to get a Def Leppard's Hysteria, and the Fantastic Four Xmen title, but I think we're still pretty winning. I was unaware there would be a Tamagatchi series available, so you know how quickly I scooped that one up!

After our hours were done, we got into the line to have Mark Bagley autograph one of BB's comics. I was a little on the proud side that he picked out a comic I gifted him this last Christmas 🥰. I'd gotten Mr. Bagley to draw me a Venom last year, so I decided not to ask for anything this go round, lol! There was also a "question of the day" at Dr. No's, asking who your favorite comic book artists were....of course I put down Peach Momoko since she was the first to actually catch my eye. 

Onto Steel Collectibles to see what fun is left from their event! Now Steel is a bit of a smaller store, so we weren't able to peek at the comic book areas easily. After entering in on their giveaway [we didn't win but it's always fun to enter!], we made our way to the FCBD table, picked up a couple of the ones we weren't able to snag earlier, and found some TCG singles binders to peek through. Found some bangers, then made our way to Win Conditions to get our pokemon fix for the day. 

 ✦•┈๑⋅⋯ Purchases ⋯⋅๑┈•✦

Surprised to say we came home with no non-FCBD comic books this year! I think we weren't wanting to accidentally pick up something that might be waiting for us in our pull boxes [sorry syndicate😅], so our focus was on TCG. We scooped up some booster hangs at Dollar General, some Glory of Team Rocket and my Magneton single at Win Conditions, and the other three singles at Steel Collectibles!

And just like that, another successful free comic book day is in the books. We had a "niece-play-event" shortly after so we weren't able to stay and help very long, but hopefully we'll be able to stay and assist longer for next year's FCBD!

April Memories

 ˚˖𓍢🌷͙֒✧˚🐰༘⋆ April Memories 2025  ˚˖𓍢🌷͙֒✧˚🐰༘⋆

All the whatnot wins coming in, along with some 420-friendly souvenirs from a friend [who visited a recreational state 🙌🏽✨], make for a pretty splendid weekend! Even though our packs weren't full of the hits we wanted, fun was definitely still had!

April 11-13 weekend: BB's birthday! My man hitting the big 3-2✨. Trying out a Bottomless Boil with "the boys" at Angry Crab Shack. Wasn't the best imo, but BB still had a lot of fun and that's all that matters! Mom and I also whipped up a Crawfish Bisque for him as his "special" birthday meal.

It feels like it's been too long since we last had sushi. Had to hit up one of our fav close to home spots, Sushi Bros, for some all-you-can-eat goodness 🤤! I didn't think I missed the Sushi Bros roll that much, but my taste buds were for sure partying. Was also too happy that I finally found those WWE belt slap bracelet blind bags. We saw them on tik-tok or ig, and knew BB needed at least one. I got him 5, and low and behold no dupes!

April 26 Atlanta Blooms! We made it to the Botanical Gardens during the Spring season! I think the last few times I've visited, it's been during the cold seasons. Finally making it during spring reopened my love for flowers. There were just so many pretty ones to take pics of. BB was also on super attentive photog-bf duty without being asked *swoon*.

I'm too excited for what my birthday month ahead has in store!

Everything Read in April

✨ Hello lovely beings✨

No need to scold me, as I am scolding myself for going two whole months without reading a single thing 😅. Instead, celebrate with me that I didn't go a whole third month with not a book read! 

DanDaDan 

Ya girl is fully up to date batches! I think only though volume 19 is actually volumized at the moment. Chapters 166-192 aren't volumized, but can be read online. All I can say is I'm still quite hooked on this one here. I'm generally too excited to see how the anime brings life to some of these situations in the pages. Being very vague as not to spoil, lol. If you enjoyed the first season and haven't started reading just yet, I'd definitely recommend you picking up the volumes!

Phantom Road Issue #11

I had completely forgotten about this series. I honestly didn't remember if I felt like issue 10 was a cliffhanger or if I thought it was done, but when I saw issue 11 on the "New this week" shelf I couldn't pick it up fast enough! We start the series back up with a little more information about what may or may not be going on with the murder cases and the Billy Bear truck stops. Mainly debriefing Agent Donald Weaver on the case, so not too too much given to the readers just yet about what's happening with this Project Jacknife.

Show-Ha Showten #5

Which, I haven't finished just yet. Reading it online instead of in hand ended up making me quite sleepy, and I found myself knocking out every now and then. There was a lot of attention on some new introduced comedians, and what their techniques are. Being someone who haven't heard of some of these techniques, the explanations behind what they're doing go a little over my head.  I'm sure I'll still end up finishing the series as new volumes come out since I love the storyline in general, but it's not the tippy top of my reading list.

Verity

I started reading Verity upon manager recommendation. Well, more so upon manager force. She'd joined a book club and I think she was very excited to have a hobby. She gave me a copy because she accidentally ordered two... Now, I say "started reading", but in reality I legit only read the first paragraph then dove deep into getting caught up with DanDaDan 😅. Priorities lol! The first paragraph did bring me in by starting out with someone watching a victims head being crushed under truck tires. Don't even let you breathe. Surely, it should be this "exciting" the whole way through, right?

After watching Sinners, instagram has flodded my algorithm with "If you watched sinners, you'll love reading these books," recommendations. Hopefully I'll be able to add some to the reading lists soon.
