DanDaDan: Evil Eye

I cannot contain my excitement! Once I found out that the DanDaDan movie was dropping this June, I quickly picked tickets for BB and I to watch on the 7th! I won't be giving away spoilers, initially, but will let you know that there was a mini recap in the beginning, as well as commentary from the directors after the episodes. I think it was the first two/three of season two. You could skip the movie and just wait for the season's release.

✨The Rundown✨

Firstly, this anime's plot is insane in the best possible way. We've got aliens, ghosts, curses, and just about everything in between. Fast-paced, unpredictable narratives that'll have you gasping one second, crying another, and laughing your buns off the next. We were eating with the anime, but now that they're trying to get on that cinematic train, you know these visuals are about to go off! 

Next, these absolute gems of characters. From the moment I met Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura Okarun, I was beyond hooked. Perfect little combos of tough, quirky, and endearing! What more could you ask for? Aira Shiratori, and Jiji Enjoji is what more you could ask for. Not only adding some interesting conflict to the mix, but also add more layers to the balance of funny and intense. I feel like this specific arc is going to be captured oh so well.

They definitely should have given us movie-goers a poster, or postcard with this art 😫...

Now, tell me my dears: Are you as hyped for this new season as I am? What are you most excited about seeing animated on the big screen? Can't wait to fangirl with all of you!

For us fans in the states, the good news is that Season 2 of DanDaDan is scheduled to premier on July 3, 2025, and will be streamed on platforms such as Netflix, Crunchyroll, and maybe even Hulu.

Having now given you the time to click out of this post and go watch for yourself, I shall speak freely about the new episodes! Spoilers ahead. The visuals, ya'll, the visuals! My mind assumed that Evil Eye Jiji would be wrapped in purple hues, and the directors did not disappoint! I think we could have given a wee bit more time shedding light on the Evil Eye's backstory for those who don't read the manga. I believe my favorite parts were most definitely Okarun defending against the Evil Eye. I hope we get more than just "saving" Jiji. Like please let us have all the way through meeting Ludris!

This May 27th was ya girl's 33rd birthday! 

A nice and chill Tuesday to bring in my new year. I didn't want a lot of ingenuine rigamaroll from my coworkers, so I tried to move around as if it truly is just a plain old tuesday. Worked like a charm. Leaving time and space for only the tried and true to send me wishes. If you can't tell, I've been through a lot lol! I was surprised when my Managers brough me roses and a giftcard. Usually I only get a free lunch [I ordered a double protein bowl from Poke Works 😏] as my gift. It really made my day brighter. My partner got me an adorable [stop looking at my clutter 😭] gaming chair for my desk, and took me on my Beach Birthday trip! 

It is safe to say, 33 was a good one.

Birthday Beach Road Trip ✨

May 27th was my 33rd birthday, and ya girl needed to be in some water.
Next stop, Daytona beach!!

We packed outr bags, got our proper time off work, and got an early start! This was our first road trip together, and the drive was about 6/7 hours in total. My BB is a trooper, and got all the driving done himself...since I am not driving legal [nor do I want to be 😅]. Driving through South Georgia reminded me how odd some people can be. There were like 20 billboards talking about Jesus coming back, and have we repented before the zombie apocalypse comes. Yes in the same billboard, lol!

We were a little ahead of schedule of our AirBnB being ready for us, so we made a pit stop in Jacksonville to eat...and peruse some local card shops. Our first food stop was Sumo sushi, and we do not recommend 😅. It was a calm atmosphere, and people seemed to come in after us, but the quality of the sushi rolls were a step below Kroger Sushi. We also stopped at two card shops. One, we were able to find some nice singles in and they also gave me some freebies for it being my bday weekend. The other...we found ourselves my first Pokemon Center ETB, and for Paldea Evolved! We got the deal of the cantury, in this pokemon economy, and only had to pay $100 for it! We of course popped that thang open!

Finally made it to our Airbnb and settled in, Then, in the evening, I had a hankering for some Elotes. We found a little Latin spot, and got one order thinking it was going to be one piece. It was two! Even with the not so great service, that corn was damn delicious!

Even with doing so much day one, we were still able to make it to the beach for some fun! We spent a good 1-2 hours there, playing in sand, getting tossed around by waves, and collecting seashells along the beach. Soon as our hunger pangs started hitting, we made our way back to the AirBnB. Got our showers in, changed....and went back on to our Pokemon hunt! Jacksonville and Daytona felt like it was saturated with card shops. It felt like they had way more than we do! Then it was time to pack back up, and make our journey on back home. 

We made a pit stop at the Port Orange mall before fully leaving, and found ourselves a pokemon vending machine. It almost took my money 😅, but we called customer service. They fixed it, and offered us a free one...but the freebie got stuck! Almost like it was telling us to just go home lol! We also stopped at Bucc-ee's along the way since I hadn't been to one yet. Wanted to see what all the hype was about, and hype warranted. The amount of yummy cooked food they had, and snacks! I ended up picking a couple pins lol. Lastly before fully focusing on driving home, we stopped at the Florida Center. I'm sure it was more popping back in the day, but it felt a little lackluster once we made it there. Still got some souvenirs for BB's nieces, and some orange slices for me.

All in all, such a good little road trip. I'm already excited thinking about where we can go next!

✨ Second Time Vending @ Charlies Collectible Show ✨

I truly believed that April would be the biggest Pokemon Recap month, but I was oddly mistaken. I almost want to say we were able to get way more poke-product for my birthday month 😅✨.  I'm going to be just a tad bit lazy and just photo dump them this go round 😂!
