My job has ended for the season, and you know what that means don't you? BB and I get to go on a little off-season trip! I started doing this by myself, when I was turning 29. Soon as I got a partner that enjoyed traveling with me, we made it kind of an annual thing. This will be our third year visiting together, and our first time visiting during the winter months. Oh, did I mention this year will be a group trip 🤔?

Tokyo Otaku Mode : Second Purchase + Experience

It's about time give Tokyo Otaku Mode another go! I used to want to always buy one of their Fukubukuro Bags when I was younger, and instead remember buying cute plush keychains for the low from them. I'm usually pushed away by shipping, so I'm sure that's helped take me so long to finally place another order through them.

Order placed: Nov 25th Monday

I ended up picking out something for myself, something for my mom, and something to make a giveaway on whatnot!

When you sign up, you get to have a newbie coupon for $7 off. If you also sign up for their rewards system [free for your first 30 days + can cancel anytime], you get another like $10 off your first order. They're good at making you feel like you can't beat their prices!

Then, the initial excitement starts to wear off 😅. First, with having to tell myself that the shipping wasn't so bad with all the other savings I got. Second, is the actual ship time. I was going to wait for my order to be received before finishing up this here post, but I think I'll just do an update post if/when my order actually arrives. It's now Saturday December, 28th...and tracking hasn't been updated for a month. Good thing this wasn't going to be my mom's only Christmas gift, right 😅. Just goes to show that in 2024, you have to double check the validity of all websites you purchase from. Even if you've ordered from them years before.

This review on trustpilot [as well as many others] has summed it up quite well. My first experience with them had to be around 2014. Sadly, giving plenty of time for quality to drop. I gotchu on that update if ever my order arrives ✨

Orange Ginger Gummies

10mg CBD/10mg THC

This particular flavor of gummy is only avialable for the holidays. I thought citrus and ginger would be the perfect combination for my partner and I to give a go. I also picked a pack out to give as a gift for my brother. The flavor is...actually not that great 😂! Both my partner and I felt that way sadly, lol. It's not like THC heavy gummies are delicious, so that wasn't too bad. The potency is also okay. I'd probably suggest these for those who like a micro-type buzz with their thc/cbd usage. 

 
Hot Toddy Gummies

25mg CBD/5mg THC

This set of gummies I picked out for my partner's sister as a gift, so not something I've tried myself and can report on 😅. I hope it at least tastes better than the orange gigner...and if it doesn't I just hope she likes the flavor lol! I'm confident the potency will be okay for her. 

 

Cran Razz THC Seltzer

10mg CBD/10mg THC

My partner and I like to find non-alcoholic alternatives for social drinks, so this THC seltzer just felt right for us to try. He was super excited, and we cracked one open almost immediately. Had to let it chill first. It's not too bad on flavor, as long as it's cold. If it starts to get to room temp...it tastes pretty foul. The potency is also, again, just okay since we consume more thc regularly.

Chocolate Brownie Bites

200mg CBD/100mg THC

This lil chocolate ball had the highest potency of all the goodies I purchased, and the first thing I tried. I initially tried solo, but let my partner have the other one when he came to visit. I think it had the most effect since it was the most potent. I think it took a little over an hour to hit, but may have had a hand in me sleeping so soundly. The flavor, again, isn't all that great. Even so, I would give these lil choco bombs another go.

The ship time wasn't all that bad, and though these items didn't get high marks in the flavor category, I do want to try some of the other flavors they have to offer!

The box was filled with beautiful full art cards of some of the most popular 

anime heroines, and side a good handful of characters to collect!

I'm a sucker for cute pack art, and also have a mini collection of one pack art from every card pack I've opened for myself. I like them to look like it was never opened, so of course took my time opening the first one lol!

First pack magic! I got myself a very cute Nessa, from pokemon ✨

I figured out that ol' spit girl is form the anime Your Name, and that the spit is apart of the plot 😅. Spoiler ahead, but it's an old method of making rice wine...

Though there is no lack of characters, majority pulled were not my chases. I ended up only adding Nessa and Marin to my personal collection. I'm still on the hunt for a Stocking to match my Panty, but am happy enough having fun looking through all the pulls!

Momo Con May 2024

A wee bit late posting, but that hardly matters right 😅?  Momo Con, a.k.a my birthday month convention, was decent this year. We ended up only going for one of the days, since our energy levels were already low for the week. We did good by getting up and ready early, so we could spend the majority of our one day having as much fun as possible. Can't go wrong with bringing back the Deku x Overhaul couples cosplay!

We focused our attention on buying up collectibles, 

and stationery goods, so a lot of photos were not taken lol!

I adore this little Junji Ito PunPun guy. I wish my camera wasn't acting up. He's got the horns, fork, and spiraling eyeball! Of course, we stan MHA cosplayers as well. Look at how precious this group is 🥹.

I was mostly drawn to Delicious in Dungeon merch, especially since I think I was still watching it at the time. The fresh excitement was real af! I scoured the con for DanDaDan goodies, but was lucky enough to find one print. I picked up so many other stickers and little trinkets! The shopping has to be my favorite part, well after cosplaying of course lol!

Black Friday Picks '24

We didn't end up taking advantage of their Black Friday deals, but did pick out our trades for the White Elephant Book Exchange coming up! I did forget which trade I picked 😅, but it doesn't make me any less excited 😆. Last year was really fun, and we're looking forward to round 2! [edit: I remembered! I picked Dark Ride Vol. 1 as my tpb lol!]

I think they may have had the best deal, since they offered all of their back issues at $1each! There truly was some gold hidden in there! Caught myself two D.Na's and a Skottie Variant I've wanted. I picked up Silent Knight in poly bag, and The Seasons Ashcan Edition at 15% off also. I think the back issues were also included in that extra 15% off too!

Sephora

The mission was some new lashes for mom to play with, while still getting a couple treats for myself. I ended up getting us both two pairs of lashes, the same brand lash glue for moms [the one I wanted was sold out 🥹], and a small skin care product for me to try out. I'm living that sensitive skin life, so the travel size was pretty perfect to try out. Plus, you can't go wrong with an Oat product right? Then this little Kerastase sample for the free ✨  

Not on sale, but I did pick up this marvel card booster box from Walmart. I ended up opening it up while streaming on whatnot, and got some nice looking cards. My fav pulls had to be Storm [obviously, lol I said I wanted her off rip 😂], shot-putted Wolverine, and the Black Panther foil card. We love our shiny over here. A good bit of the cards look cool, but I didn't entirely know the characters. I'm sure they'd hit way harder if I did 😅. Each of the cards are on a nice thick card stock. Majority of them seem to have the same backgrounds, with a handful being more special/rare than the rest. There were even a couple black and white cards thrown in there. I'd def buy again, just to see who else we can pull!

Though I was able to get me some goodies. the deals just weren't dealing like they used to *le sigh*. I hope you were able to find some amazing steals too!

I thought my true purpose for falling into the obsession that is collecting waifu was to find cards of all my chases. My tru purpose was to....find all my chases as perfect slabbed up shawties!

Lookie here at lil miss slabbed up Tohru Kobayashi 🥹💕! I fell for her the first time I watched Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid "back in the day". There are other female characters I loved back then, but I think Tohru truly found a place deep within my heart. 

Stumbled upon this beaut first on Gamestop, but when I was ready to snag her up she was out of stock. Luckily, djentlemanCollectz had a listing around the same price on eBay!

Now I just need to get my hands on the perfect Mirko slab 🧐
