Valentine's 2025 ♥️

✨Hello lovely beings✨

My dating history has been interesting to say the least. This current one though...next to spectacular. I finally feel right saying, "I found my person!" 

For Valentine's day, we only had plans to go out to eat and didn't mention anything about gifts. Low and behold, both of our themes seemed to be collectible card goodies. See what I mean when I said I found my person lol!

I wanted to make BB an exploding pokemon box for his birthday, but ended up not being to wait that long and did it for his Valentine's Day gift instead. I ended up doing the outer layer with graded cards I hoarded, the middle layer were japanese packs, and the inner all english. He loved it! For me, he was able to snag a Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Booster box, and I couldn't wait to rip every pack!

BB doesn't enjoy it if I'm just watching him open packs, so before dinner we opened them all up together. We ended up pulling so many hits, and a good handful were our chases too! I think I was most excited for the Quaxwell, since I really wanted that evolution trio from Paldea Evolved. BB's favorite pulls were most definitely the Ceruledge and Riolu! I was absolutely jealous of him pulling Riolu, but this is his gift and if one of us has it, then we both have it! Onto our delicious dinner 🤤. First of all, don't we look so good together 😏. I couldn't be happier that my hair decided to work with me, especially since we ended up rushing a wee bit. Look at these cuties!

BB actually found this place. It popped up on his TikTok algorithm. He saw how excited I was with the idea of trying this place out, and he got a reservation set up for us 🥰. Rock Steady is the name, and Afro-Caribbean cuisine is the game!

We picked out one appetizer, and two different entree dishes so we could share. Let's start with the app, Beef Empanadas 🤤. They look small, but blame the plate as they were just the right size and more than enough flavor. I almost wanted to order a set to go, they were that damn tasty!

BB ordered the Jerk grilled chicken, which he almost didn't go with due to the pictures online. We both convinced him [yes even himself lol], that the color was just due to the chicken marinating//cooking for 72hours. We were both happy he stuck with it, because boy was it fuggin delicious. A really good size too. It came over a bed of greens, and plantains. There was also a pretty tasty little slaw over top too.

I didn't want to order the Jerk chicken too, so I went with the Daily Catch Rundown. I think it sounded the best, but I also didn't pay attention to the flavor profile it would be. It ended up being sweeter than I expected....but still absolutely delicious! I was surprised too, since I'm usually not the biggest fan of sweet potatoes. Everything blended together so well on the fork. I would recommend letting them bring you a side of steamed rice to ensure you get all of those juices!

If you can't tell by now, I would absolutely recommend for any couple or even to try out on a solo date! The perfect place to treat yoself as well as your tastebuds ✨ I hope you were able to have an amazing Feb 14th as well, no matter how you decided to spend it!
